The Trembling Wilburys returned to London Beatles Day on Sunday October 20th for the third time to play a short acoustic set, marking exactly 25 years of the original Traveling Wilburys, which was well received by a highly appreciative crowd. The event was also much busier than usual due to the presence of author Mark Lewisohn talking about his mammoth new Beatles biography “All These Years – Vol. 1: Tune In”, and signing copies all afternoon in an adjacent room – thereby sadly missing our fine set (!) which consisted of ‘She’s My Baby’, ‘Dirty World’, ‘If I Need Someone’, ‘Here Comes The Sun’, ‘You Got It’, ‘End of The Line’ and ‘Handle With Care’. It’s Christmas time again, folks. And we’re re-visiting our spiritual home, the Castle Rocks! Come down and join us to ring in Christmas and the New Year at Denis’s place. We’ll be doing all your favourite Orbison, Harrison and Wilburys tunes.
In the words of the Castle Rocks’ main man, Denis Cook,
“I’m looking at this being my “Last Hurrah” Live music session at The Castle with some of my most staunch supporters in David Stark, Dave Collison, Joe Shaw, Dzal Martin and all the guys in
the bands plus my Hillbilly mates Shane Lamont, Vaughan Rance & Dave Williams. We have another great live music night on 29th but this Sunday afternoon scene has been “more me” and I hope as many of you as possible can join me.”

Coming to the Castle this Christmas as part of the SongLink/Dave Stark 5 Christmas Party Bonanza, the Trembling Wilburys will be playing in tribute to George Harrison who passed away 10 years ago on the 29th of November, Roy Orbison who passed away on 6th December 1988 and now, after the very sad news of Barbara Orbison’s passing on the 6th of December this year, we shall also be paying tribute to her.
We shall be playing alongside the Dave Stark 5, the Almost Brothers Band, Dean Dyson and Susan Black making for an evening of superb entertainment.
Entry is free and there is a full menu laid on. You are welcome to bring your children with you too.
Reason: Fun, frivolity and festivity. Merry Christmas!
The Dave Stark Five (the band behind the Trembling Wilburys) sadly lost one of their members a few weeks ago to cancer. Richard Rangeley was a long time friend and member of the band. On the 11th of September they will be holding a tribute to Richard with many musicians including the Almost Brothers Band, Tonto and Danmark and a night of great entertainment to celebrate his life.
In addition to all of that, there will be a set from the Trembling Wilburys!
The night will be a fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Care. Entry is free with a donation to Macmillan.
