Hey folks,
We’ll be Trembling our Wilburys not once but twice over the August Bank Holiday weekend, firstly at LIVESTOCK FESTIVAL at Forty Hall Farm in Enfield on Saturday 29th August. This north London all-day fest is now in its fourth year and has a great mix of original & covers bands, we’ll be on around 6-7pm or a bit later.
Tickets £10 advance / £15 on day / kids £5.00, from livestockuk.com
Then on Sunday 30th August we’re down in Surrey for our debut gig at the legendary BOOM BOOM CLUB based at Sutton United F.C. It’s a terrific venue which has hosted many name bands as well as the top tribute shows, run by veteran promoter Pete Feenstra. Tickets £10 in advance / £12 on the door, see feenstra.co.uk
Meanwhile our last two gigs in Basildon and Birmingham went really well, so much so that a couple of female fans at Basildon’s Towngate Theatre were moved to write this little poem and post it on Facebook:
“Hey, Hey! Went out ‘Last Night’ and what did we see?
We saw a gig by the super Trembling Wilburys,
Man they were rockin’, rollin’ and boppin’,
Those darn Wilburys will take some toppin’!
With Tweeter & the Monkey Man,
I became their biggest fan,
And I Won’t Back Down from that Trembling Wilbury sound
So many hits to the ‘End of the Line’
By the evening’s end we were all feelin’ fine!”“Great show guys – and thanks to you all for putting up with us pestering you all after the show. Folks…If you’ve never seen the Trembling Wilburys live, please go and see them , you won’t be disappointed! Keep on Trembling Wilburys! See you again next time guys! Love Kate & Gina (Basildon)” xx
Meanwhile at The Roadhouse in Birmingham, one of our long-time supporters Keith James Sinclair, who runs the ELO/Beatles Forever website, saw us for the first time and wrote a great review on the site:
“This was my first opportunity to actually meet, see and hear a band often featured here at ELOBF and my expectations were more than fulfilled with an inspired, energetic and accurate performance not only of The Traveling Wilburys songbook but also a fair selection of the works of Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty…”
