Hi Folks,
The Wilburys are getting ready to rock out again after our summer break, during which time we filmed a live promo video on stage in Chelmsford with a multi-camera set-up, currently being edited & mixed so look out soon.
Our next gig is this Sunday 3rd September back at ONE KEW ROAD in Richmond (right opposite the station), but please be aware that due to personal family issues Glen is unfortunately unable to join us. Instead we’re pleased to welcome John Brosnan stepping in to perform “a tribute to Glen Knowler” as he puts it!! – you may know John from his extensive experience playing George in the West End “Let It Be” show & other bands. Hopefully Glen will be back with us very soon but in the meantime please come on down and let’s rock Richmond once again
Then on Sunday 17th September a very special show at
HALF MOON PUTNEY as we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Roy Orbison’s legendary
“BLACK & WHITE NIGHT” TV performance which saw him playing his hits with an incredible band including Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, James Burton, Bonnie Raitt, kd lang & others in Sept ’87. The Wilburys very own Roy Orbison, DAVE COLLISON, will star as the Big O in the “Black & White Night Revisited” along with a few “Friends” (i.e. the Wilburys) and female backing singers to recreate the entire show exactly in the original song order. Plus great support from satirical songwriter,
Chris Tavener.
Finally on Saturday 20th October we’re back at the BULL THEATRE in Barnet to perform a double-header show with STEVE RODGERS, son of the legendary Paul Rodgers, and his band. We played the theatre a few months ago and it’s a lovely intimate theatre for live music, so make a note of these diary dates:
