We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be celebrating what would be the Big O’s 80th birthday on Saturday April 23rd, also St. George’s Day & Shakespeare’s birthday. Come down and enjoy some of the greatest songs ever written, by one the most iconic and legendary performers of all time, as interpreted by our very own Big O aka Dave Collison. Plus a bunch of Wilburys songs & other classics by George Harrison/Beatles, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty & Jeff Lynne/ELO.
The Tremblers have a special affiliation with Roy, as drummer David Stark was a good friend of Roy’s widow Barbara Orbison who sadly passed away herself on December 6th 2011, ironically the same date as Roy’s death in 1988. The Trembling Wilburys had only been formed a few months, but Barbara totally endorsed our special Roy “75th Birthday Bash” in April 2011 at The Castle on Finchley Road (where we started out), and organised boxes of Roy ‘Ray-bans’ and Black & White CD’s & DVD’s to give away at the gig, which was a resounding success.
