We’re pleased to be playing our second gig at the legendary Water Rats near King’s Cross where BOB DYLAN played his first-ever London show in late 1962. TREMBLING NEAR YOU IN 2016

The Trembling Wilburys

The Trembling Wilburys

Thanks to everyone who came down to the Half Moon Putney recently, acclaimed as one of our best gigs by many despite a few gremlins in the equipment dept! It’s one of our favourite venues and we’ve been booked back for two more gigs this year, they certainly have good taste in SW London. Talking of which, we’ve also been invited to play on a regular basis at another venue a bit further down the Thames, details to be confirmed soon. Continue reading

The Trembling Wilburys – Handling Gigs With Care

The Trembling Wilburys is one of the most acclaimed tribute bands in the UK today, featuring a line-up of seven outstanding vocalists and musicians who play a wide variety of classic songs by rock super-group the Traveling Wilburys – plus a bunch of solo hits by George Harrison/Beatles, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty & Jeff Lynne/ELO.

Glen Knowler is completely uncanny as George (easily the closest look & sound-alike on the planet), while Dave Collison perfectly reproduces Roy Orbison’s unique vocal style and stage presence.  The band have been enthralling audiences for the past couple of years with their totally magical 2-hour show –  Set 1 features solo hits, while Set 2 is the full Wilburys experience plus a few other surprises.

“Wow what at great group the Trembling Wilburys are, hope you have them back again. Everyone said how great they were on the night. Look forward to seeing them again, can’t wait. Regards Elaine.”

BOOMING IN SUTTON & MOONING IN PUTNEY!!

We recently had a fantastic night at the Boom Boom Club in Sutton on August 30th, where these great new photos were taken just minutes before we went on stage (thanks to Kate Weston for snapping). The audience included ex-Wings and Wild Angels drummer Geoff Britton, while sound engineer Bevo Bailey and daughter Sheena did a superb job for us.  We also welcomed our old friend Mike Berry down at the Half Moon Putney where we played for the third time in a year on September 20th, while we also had a lot of fun at Livestock Festival in Enfield over August Bank Holiday. Watch out for new gigs being added all the time!

EXCITING NEWS! Following our successful appearance at last year’s Brian Epstein tribute event, we’ve been asked to perform at the Heritage Foundation’s “Lunch with Jimmy Tarbuck & Friends” at the Regents Park Marriott on Sunday June 21st. This is sure to be a star-studded event with many celebrities coming to mingle with the legendary Liverpool comedian whose name is synonymous with the Beatles & the Swinging Sixties, and we’re thrilled to be closing the show at the Marriott once again. Tickets are available at £84.00 each on the Heritage Hotline from chairman David Graham on 07703 397270.

Trembling into 2015

The Wilburys have a had a rockin’ great 12 months, ending with our second Xmas Xtravaganza at Dingwalls, and our final gig of the year at the Royal Oak in Hampton. Thanks to everyone who came to see us in 2014, from Barnsley to Broadstairs, and from the Half Moon in Putney to Beatles Day at Mons in Belgium – it’s a been a great ride to the end of the line, sorry end of the year..

Wilburys at Dingwalls

The Wilburys At Dingwalls

But never fear, we’re back in early 2015 with our first Midlands gig at The Roadhouse in Birmingham on February 13th, followed by a return to the Half Moon on March 1st and visits to Farncombe, Surrey (March 20th), The Horns, Watord (April 5th), Tropic of Ruislip (April 24th) and others tbc – keep an eye on the website and our Facebook page.

We also hope to have a live recording or DVD out sometime during the year as promised, plus some other merch which we know many of you have been asking for. We’re also hoping to add a few new tunes to the set during 2015, although quite where we’re going to fit them in we have no idea!

Finally, big congratulations to the late great George Harrison (aka Nelson Wilbury) who’s being awarded a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys on February 8th – very much deserved, and we’ll all be there with him in spirit in the night. As the man himself said, “Handle With Care”.

Best from all the band,
Glen, Dave C, Andy, Dzal, Marko, Howard & Dave S.
